University of Missouri
Elementary Education
I am a junior at The University of Missouri, and I am from Dallas, TX.
I decided to become a teacher because many of my greatest heroes and mentors have been teachers, who have invested in my success. I have chosen this profession because of my love for children and my desire to make a difference in their lives through theimparting of knowledge and the relational benefits of mentorship to a child.
I have had a lot of experience with children including babysitting, weekly volunteering in a 2nd grade Sunday school classroom at The Crossing Church in Columbia, MO, and this past summer I directed a 2nd grade Vacation Bible School room at my hometown church with five leaders and fifty children. I was also a counselor at my church’s junior high camp and counseled a group of 7th grade girls. In high school, I also tutored two Spanish speaking children in English and their homework. The last field experience I was apart of I was in a 4th grade room and worked with the children one-on-one during their Writing Workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to start working with you andyour students, as well.
Some more information about me, I love my job in the MU Admissions Office in Jesse at the front desk, and I am a part of many organizations on campus including the education honors society Kappa Delta Pi, Missouri Student Association, and the sorority Alpha Chi Omega. I also love to sing on the worship band during the Campus Crusade forChrist (CRU) meetings, and sing the national anthem at many different events on The University of Missouri campus.
